Watch as Pastor J kicks off Lighthouse UCC’s June Sermon Series: The Gospel Through the Decades with a stop at the 60’s from Acts 2:1-21 NIV. In this message Pastor J weaves the themes of Pentecost, Pride, and protest together to address the racism in Boystown. Pentecost came 50 days after Easter. And a movement is launching in Chicago of African American LGBTQ+ folks and our allies, 50 years after Stonewall to demand that justice prevail and Black LGBTQ+ folks are welcomed and served in Boystown, as well as throughout all of Chicago.
